Synology 2009 New Product Release

Wow!!! for a very long time I didn’t update my blog and it really not good especially if you want to make money from your blog…cheh!!! hehehe.

Anyway, yesterday (24/03/2009) I attended an event title’ Synology 2009 New Product Release’ at Melia Hotel Kuala Lumpur. This hotel not really syiok but the event really syiok. It’s a great opportunity for all resellers and users of Synology. I’m one of the user and reseller for it and the only thing I can say this technology really smokin Hot..

For those who not understand about this you can go to Synology website. In laymen term let me explain a bit about it.  But, are you a person who: -

- Like to download stuff from net and have the habit of turning on your PC/ Mac 24/7 to complete your download? (I really pity your PC especially expensive Mac for this)

- Always have problem of downloading the wrong stuff and later scratching your head how to delete those viruses?

- Would wish to have a remote HD for backup and file sharing?

- Would love to host your own blog and have your own domain without paying any single cents to hosting company?

- Dreaming to turn your ordinary USB printer to network printer?

- Dreaming to have your own security camera system?

If any of it your answer is yes, then this product is for you. This thing is not just a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device but it can do wonders…

Back to the event, I was invited by Mr. Dennis Toh from Build Technology  Supply Sdn. Bhd. sole distributor for Synology product in Malaysia. Seriously, I don’t know much about Build Technology, but Mr. Dennis is one of the most helpful person I’ve ever met. First time I used Synology he assist me over the phone without any hesitation of answering my phone calls even at night… That’s what we call Great Customer Service and also one of the reason I’m very confident using his product. Even Synology product have a very good customer service and also active forum members which going to help you solve any of your Synology error.

During the  event we have Mr. Dennis Tang (another Dennis..hehehe) Sales Manager from Synology gave some introduction of what’s new in 2009…

After that, we have Ms. Rosiel Lee also from Synology…and she’s their Product Specialist…cool, I really admire when I see a geek girl.

She demonstrated Synolgy new UI, DSM (Disk Station Manager) 2.1…and this thing really a major upgrade from the previous version. Apart from the new UI, the new version add other features, few of it are, Mail server application and 2.5″ HDD support. For more information you can visit Synology press room.
